We're extremely happy to announce that as of 2011 Bantalabs is officially an Acquia Education and Training Partner.
We'll be integrating Acquia products and services in our curriculum where applicable and we'll be working with Acquia to raise open source and Drupal awareness in educational institutions across West Africa.
As Acquia's first Education and Training Partners in Africa we have a busy year ahead: we're rolling out educational and professional training tracks, involving more and more institutions and private partners as we go.
We're currently working with the Agence Universitaire Francophone and institutions such as Université Cheikh Anta Diop (Dakar), Epitech (Dakar) and Université Gaston Berger (Saint-Louis).
Acquia's willingness to support Drupal education in Africa is an important sign: maybe the enterprise world is starting to notice the vast possibilities of the African work force. Maybe the elephants are waking up to the reality that here is a young and tech savvy generation ready to break the Aid Cycle, if only given half a chance.

We're still bootstrapping the program, but I think we're in a position to do something unique by providing good quality corporate training, while still making Drupal training widely accessible and affordable for all sorts of audiences to learn- including students.
We certainly need more variety of prices, content, locations and focuses for different audiences.
